Detection is where others stop. It is where we start.

Counter-drone vendors sell a sensor and an alert. Delta 7 is a licensed California investigation firm, and the alert is only the first step of an investigation whose goal is to identify the bad actor.

1. Detection. Our mobile platform passively receives the broadcast the FAA requires every compliant drone to transmit and places the aircraft, its flight path and its take-off location on a live map.
2. Response. An investigator moves on the launch area while the aircraft is still airborne.
3. Identifiers. On site, we capture the identifiers that tie the flight to a person: the aircraft, the operator, and what they arrived in. The specifics of how are our tradecraft.
4. Background investigation. Those identifiers become the starting point for a full background investigation of the subject through lawful, permissible-purpose sources, led by a former FBI Supervisory Special Agent. We attempt identification; we do not guarantee it.
5. Referral and report. A litigation-grade report with detection logs, flight paths, timestamps, imagery and chain of custody, delivered to the client's attorney or referred to law enforcement, with supporting declarations and testimony available.

Why the investigator matters

A detection log identifies an aircraft. Registration identifies an owner. And every bad actor keeps the same defenses ready: I sold it. It was stolen. I wasn't flying. An investigator at the launch area during the flight collapses that defense. Detection is a lead. Attribution is a case, and Delta 7 delivers it.

Deployment modes

Attended. Live coverage of a discrete event: a wedding, private party, deposition, board meeting or protective detail. An investigator monitors in real time and responds to the launch area on detection. One investigator for contained venues; two when one must stay on the console while the other responds.

Unattended with remote monitoring. For coverage measured in days or weeks, the platform is installed at the property, connected over cellular and monitored remotely. Alert zones are drawn around the site, detections are reviewed daily, and the client or their security team is notified under an agreed protocol. Investigators can be dispatched to a live launch area.

Traveling with the principal. Exposure concentrates where the principal is: an occupied residence, an event, a journey. The capability travels too, deployed at each residence or stop for the duration of the stay.

Hybrid. The platform runs continuously and an investigator attends during the windows when intrusions are likeliest, such as a principal's arrivals and departures or the hour a paparazzi drone has been appearing.

The Sentinel Program

Our flagship tier for clients who need to know whether a pattern exists: 30, 60 or 90 days of continuous collection, scheduled response windows, interim reports and a formal threat assessment that answers the questions that matter. Is there a threat, is it the same aircraft or operator returning, and who is behind it? Repeat-offender identification across engagements is part of the service.

Legal framework

• Delta 7 Group is a California-licensed private investigation firm, CA PI Lic. No. 188424. Every phase after detection is investigative work performed under that license.
• Detection is passive only. We receive broadcasts the FAA requires drones to transmit; we never jam, capture or interfere with an aircraft, which is a federal offense for private parties.
• All field documentation is conducted lawfully from locations where we have a right to be.
• Records access is limited to permissible purposes under federal and California law.
• California Civil Code §1708.8 gives you a civil claim, with treble damages, against a drone operator who captures images of private activity. Our report is built to support it.
• We coordinate with law enforcement when an intrusion warrants it; a Remote ID serial gives officers a same-day path to the registered operator.
